Agriculture continues to contribute significantly to the growth of Philippines' Gross Domestic Product (GDP) despite the challenge posed by climate change, infrastructure constraints, and production issues, among others. It keeps its potential to drive the country to a better economy as it remains to be the second largest employer with 22.3% contribution to the workforce, according to the Philippine Statistics Authority (PSA).

It is in this context that the Philippines Partnership for Sustainable Agriculture (PPSA), a multi-stakeholder partnership platform catalyzed by Grow Asia and the Department of Agriculture in partnership with the Philippine Business for Social Progress (PBSP), is organizing a Practitioners' Workshop that serves as a venue to talk about these issues and relevant matters in agriculture.

The PPSA Practitioners' Workshop and Learning Event 2019 will be an opportunity for different stakeholders from the government, private sector, academe, civil societies and cooperatives share best practices, gain new knowledge, and understand the challenges of Philippine agriculture especially on public-private partnership and government engagement, digital innovation and agri-finance. The knowledge that will be obtained from the discussion could be used as point of collaboration among the stakeholders to think of solutions to help smallholder farmers increase their productivity and profitability. A marketplace of ideas and projects is expected to add more in the information-sharing and networking activity.

This FREE event will be held at Makati Shangri-La, Manila.Final agenda will be sent as soon as possible.
